Adobe Captivate 5 supports Master Slides so that you can easily create
and maintain well formatted and consistent eLearning content.
In this tutorial we'll show you how to create a Master Slide,
apply a Master Slide to slides in an Adobe Captivate project file,
insert new slides linked to the Master Slide,
modify Master Slides, use Master Slides with Project Templates together.
To create a Master Slide, we will choose Insert

Adobe Captivate now displays the Master Slide panel.
We can add objects to the Master Slide in the same way we can with a regular slide.
Using the Property Inspector, we will give our Master Slide a name.

Having created the new Master Slide,
we will return to the Filmstrip view.

Back in the Filmstrip view, we will now link the new Master Slide to this slide.

The new Master Slide is now added to the slide.
Any new slides you insert will be created from the currently selected Master Slide.
We'll now insert three new slides.
To do this, we'll choose New Slide from the Insert menu.

The three new slides, with the currently selected Master Slide design,
are now added to the project.
Add new objects or modify existing objects in your Master Slides at any time.
We will add a copyright notice at the bottom of this Master Slide.

Now when we switch back to the Filmstrip view, [click]
the copyright notice is present on every slide in this project.
Master Slides let you insert new designs into your eLearning courses,
create a new Master Slide, and then apply this to any of the existing slides in your project.

The new design is automatically applied.
Using the Property Inspector, you can make changes to your Master Slides.
This Master Slide is currently using the Project Background.
Let's apply a new background image.

In this case we'll select an image we have previously added to the Library panel.

The new background image is now added to the Master Slide.
Using the Property Inspector, you can also edit the slide background.

The new slide background design is now ready to be applied to any slides in this project.
Adobe Captivate enables you to use both Master Slides and Project Templates together,
providing you, your work colleagues or SMEs (Subject Matter Experts)
with unlimited flexibility.
Use Master Slides to create the look and feel you want for your projects.
Add placeholder objects and/or slides, set the project theme using Project Templates,
and create a new project based on the Master Slide and Project Template solution.
Start by creating a Project Template.
Design the project look and feel using Master Slides.
In the Filmstrip view, add placeholder objects
and insert interactive objects such as click boxes.
Create a new project from the Project Template.

The new file created from the Project Template now includes all of the design elements
from both the Master Slide and the Project Template.
Any new slides we add to this new project
