[Bryan O'Neil Hughes, Sr. Product Manager-Photoshop] No matter what sort of camera
you're taking pictures with, whether it's your cell phone, your DSLR,
or anywhere in between, there are certain artifacts that come from your lens.
They are Geometric Distortion, which changes the look of your image,
Chromatic Aberration, which introduces color fringing,
and Vignetting, which is the fallout that you see in the corners of your image.
We're able to automatically remove all of these in Photoshop CS5.
Because this is also fed through the raw pipeline, that means better HDR merges
and better panoramas as well.
What was once a very cumbersome manual process has now been completely automated.
In the event that we don't have a profile that we need,
we've made this extensible so our users are able to create their own profiles
and share them.
There's much more information on that at Adobe Labs.
That's Automated Lens Correction, a great Hidden Gem in Photoshop CS5.
