[Big Data is a big pain.]

I'm going to say a term. Tell me if you've ever heard of it.
Big data.>>No.
If I told you what big data is, do you think you'd be interested?>>No.
No.>>No.
No.>>What's big data?
Hey, do you guys know what big data is?
I don't know what big data is.
I don't mind companies knowing information about me.
It's when they use it to poke you and contact you after.
[Roohi Moola] [Sr. Product Mgr, Williams-Sonoma.com] Well, I think without data you really don't have anything.
You don't have anything that's actionable.
You don't have any real solid information that you can base business decisions upon.
[Susan Etlinger] [Industry Analyst, Altimeter Group] The point is that the tools that we have
need to get better so that they can start to recommend decisions to be made
and recommend what to do next, tell you what does it mean
when we see these kinds of results?
And so that's kind of where we need to go.
I think big data is a big and very vague term.
But the fact that there's all of this information out there in the world
doesn't mean that we shouldn't pay attention to it.
It just means that we need to build a better mousetrap.
