"The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” (Mark Twain, 1897). This statement couldn’t be phrased better for Flash in 2011. But the digital landscape has changed so profoundly that we need to re-examine its new role. “The Death of Flash!” explores the striking irony of the misinformation that’s percolated through the web over the past year. Itai will explore the early beginnings (Flash was originally designed for tablet computers. Who knew?!), the first and second browser wars, Flash’s rise to stardom, AIR’s cross-screen power and how Facebook has become the new microsite. Flash is dead. Long live Flash!
