[ID - What's new in Adobe® InDesign® CS5.5] Hi. Colin Fleming here. We're going to take a look at some new features in InDesign CS5.5 that are part of the EPUB workflow. What we're going to look at in this particular video is the fact that I can now add media content to an InDesign file, and when I export to EPUB, that media is written into the EPUB using HTML5 code, and I can play it back inside of iBooks on the iPad. It's really easy to do--almost too easy--so let's take a peek at it. I've got an InDesign layout here, and you can see in the middle of the page-- sort of near the bottom--I've placed a movie file. Now, I'm using an mp4 file, because that's going to be supported inside of the player. It's simply File, Place and put the movie into my layout. Now to control the order of the presentation, of course, I've built and anchored object, and you saw in an earlier video just how easy it is to anchor this movie into the text, and you can see it's an anchored object here. Now to control and manipulate the presentation of it, I'm probably going to use the Media Panel. The cool thing about the Medial Panel is I can scrub through the content and find an appropriate image--maybe a little bit further. Right about here, I think, would be a good representation of what the video is. So I scrub to that point in the video in the Media Panel, and then I build a poster frame from the current frame. So I've worked up the presentation here, and now it's simply a matter of exporting the EPUB. I load that file onto my iPad using iTunes, and when I turn and look at the content on my iPad, we can see here in the layout the content that we saw, and now I can go ahead and play that video either inline, or I can take the video to full screen and enjoy it in all its splendor. If I tap, I get all the standard controls. It is really, really easy to work with. So what's going on underneath the hood here is we wrote the code into the EPUB using the video tag, which is part of HTML5. If I added audio content, that would be written into the EPUB content using the audio tag. These are really cool steps forward. It really expands the idea of what an EPUB can do. So give it a crack, take a look at it, play with it, have fun with your publishing. Thanks.
