[Paul Trani] There is now better integration between Flash Professional and Flash Builder
thanks to the unified project file formats.
So changes made in Flash Builder will now show up in Flash Professional
and vice versa.
Here's my project currently in Flash Professional,
and I will open up the Project panel.
You'll notice there's an ActionScript file, some .fla files, a .swc file,
so there's plenty going on in here, and what I want to do
is I want to share this project with Flash Builder.
All right, and this is called Meridian
and it happens to be on my desktop.
I'm going to go into Flash Builder now.
In Flash Builder, in the Package Explorer area,
I'm just going to do a right-click and select Import.
Now, I can go ahead and Import that particular project folder
that happens to be on my desktop.
Click Browse--here it is--the same items are right in here.
Click Choose, and then finally, Finish.
As I twirl this down, notice all of the assets are in here,
so everything is looking pretty darn good,
but any changes I make in Flash Builder
actually shows up in Flash Professional as well.
For instance, if I just do a right-click on this Meridian folder
and I go to the Properties,
I can just select the ActionScript to build the path,
and I can just add a .swc file, soI Can add a compiled file that has assets
and ActionScript in it.
I can add it--sure enough, I'm going to add this tracking .swc file,
select Open, and I'm just adding that tracking .swc to the build path.
So that's the one change I'm making, select OK.
So that's done now.
Now I'm going to go back into Flash Professional
into the Project panel,
and I will just refresh it
and if I go into the Project Properties just like I was doing in Flash Builder,
notice that in the Library tab, here's the .swc that was added.
So I can take that same .swc, add more changes to it, add more files.
I can even remove this file, and if I remove it,
it's going to make that update back in Flash Builder.
In fact, let's jump right back out there.
I got to Meridian, do a right-click, Properties,
you can see that the build path has been updated.
This is great because it gives me flexibility.
I could use Flash Builder, I could use Flash Professional
and if I update one, it will update the other.
So I hope you enjoyed watching.
Join me next time.
