[Printing: Banners, Posters, or Large Papers]
[AcrobatUsers.com, Adobe Acrobat User Community]
The "Page Handling" section of the Acrobat or
Adobe Reader ten-print dialog allows you to print a PDF page
across multiple sheets of paper, also known as tiling.
This is useful for printing posters, banners and large documents,
like the one I have opened here.
The tiling feature is not available in Adobe Reader 9 or earlier.
To print a single page across multiple sheets of paper,
simply select the "Tile All Pages" option
from the Page-Scaling pull-down of the print dialog.
You can set the scale and overlap
so it's easier to piece together the tiles that make up each page.
The "Tile Large Pages" option is useful if you have documents with mixed page sizes,
and you only want to tile the large pages.
Again, you have choices for scale,
overlap, cut marks, and labels.
You can also enlarge a single page of a document
to print across multiple sheets of paper.
For example, perhaps I would like to enlarge the second page of this document
to print out as a larger poster.
I simply select the "Tile All Pages" option
from the Page Scaling pull-down,
which exposes the tile's scale.
I'll increase this to 200 percent.
And now my preview displays the tiles, or pages.
You can even zoom in on the preview to see how
each page will print on each sheet of paper.
If you don't see the tile scale options,
make sure that print is image,
or for Acrobat only, separations or enter it separations
are not selected in the advance print menu.
