[Adobe Acrobat X]
[Top 10 things you didn't know Acrobat could do]
[Lori DeFurio, Acrobat Enablement, Adobe Systems] The top ten most common things
people didn't know Acrobat could do.
Number 10: Adobe SendNow.
An easy-to-use online service you can access directly in the product.
Everyone loves this because it's so simple, and it solves a common problem
that many customers experience today: e-mailing large files.
Number 9: Creating searchable PDF documents from paper.
What good is scanning to PDF if it doesn't give you searchable text?
Just hook up a scanner, and Acrobat does the rest.
Number 8: Reader enablement.
This one is important because it's what allows your colleagues and your customers
who only have Adobe Reader to fill in forms, add comments,
or even apply a digital signature.
Number 7: Comparing documents.
This one's for anyone whose ever had to tell their boss all the little differences
between this version of the Power Point and the one
that came in last week with the same name.
Number 6: Rich media insertion.
This is just a fancy way to say that Acrobat supports video and Flash files
directly in PDF documents.
It's a whole new world now with this capability.
Number 5: Content removal.
Often, customers tell me they're concerned about sensitive
or personal information getting out.
Have you ever used a black marker or White Out and a photo copier?
Well, Acrobat X's redaction tool takes it to the next level.
Number 4: Review and comment.
Tell me you've heard this before:
Ten people make comments. Five people change their minds the next day.
Three rewrite the opening, and then two escalate it to their boss.
All of these things are no problem for you because you have Acrobat X.
Number 3: Fillable forms.
Okay, I know you know Acrobat creates forms.
But did you know that when people send them back to you,
Acrobat will collate the data and create a report?
Isn't that better than retyping all that information into Excel?
Number 2: PDF portfolios.
Well, this was going to be my number one.
Take any group of files, but before you send them out,
with just a few extra clicks, you can put them into a custom PDF portfolio
with your organization's logo and branding, in the order you want,
with descriptions and everything.
Okay, drum roll please...
The number one thing I bet you didn't know Acrobat could do
is Action Wizard.
Want to know the shortest distance between you and getting a job done?
With Action Wizard you can automate repetitive tasks, share them with your team,
and all of the clicking goes away, and everyone wins.
There you have it, folks.
Now that you know what Acrobat can do, why not try it for yourself?
Oh, no. They're not going to put one of those funny hats on me.
I should have known.
