Hey everyone, I'm Renaun Erickson.
I'm a Developer Evangelist with Adobe.
Today, I'm going to talk to you about Flash Player 10.3 and Android 3.1.
So, with the rollout of Android 3.1, users with honeycomb devices
like these Motorola Xooms I have here, can have great experiences,
especially video experiences, with Flash Player 10.3.
And that's what I want to show you today.
So, Flash Player 10.3 provides a feature called "stage video."
Stage video is enhanced video pipeline that provides better frame rates
and lower battery consumption, all providing better H.264 decoding on these devices.
Let's go ahead and take a look at these examples.
What I have here are some Motorola Xooms, and I'm going to show you
two videos side by side, the same video, to show you this experience.
Go ahead and start these.
The honeycomb device on the right, the Motorola Xoom over here,
is running Android 3.0, and the Motorola Xoom on the left is running Android 3.1
running the same video, and if we go ahead and take a look
at some of the stats, like frames per second, we can see the difference
in the performance enhancements of Flash Player 10.3 on Android 3.1.
The video on the right is running current frames of 10 frames per second,
8 to 10 frames per second, and the video on the left with Flash Player 10.3
on Android 3.1 is running at the full frames at 24 frames per second.
So, this shows you a good example of the differences in the video performance
and the improvements and enhanced experience in Flash Player 10.3 on Android 3.1.
Let's go ahead and take a look at another example on YouTube.
So, this is a typical YouTube video.
I have it set to HD at 720p
so you can see a high-fidelity video.
We can bring it into full-screen mode, and now you'll see a great video experience
running on the tablet using stage video using less of your battery
and a better video experience.
A user developer can build these same experiences with Adobe Creative Suite 5.5,
and more specifically, you can download Flash Player 10.3 at
get.adobe.com/flashplayer, and that's it.
Thanks for joining me.
