If you've ever shot with a DSLR camera before,
then chances are you've probably encountered rolling shutter,
and unfortunately, this can be really irritating,
especially if you just had that 1 shot, and there's no other opportunity to get it again.
Well now in After Effects CS6, we have a really easy way to simply
drag and drop the rolling shutter repair effect onto your footage
and repair it literally in a matter of seconds.
So if we take a look at this footage here, and you look at the back of this hot wheels car,
you can see that the license plate has the camera
as panning around; it just appears skewed,
even the tires appear kind of skewed,
and it's really evident
right in this section right here; it just looks bent,
and that of course is not how it actually appeared.
Well once, it's a simple drag and drop operation.
I can come over to my effect and pre-sets panel,
type in rolling shutter, drag it on top of my clip,
and boom, it's done, it's repaired.
We can readjust our rolling shutter rate here.
Let's go just around 68%,
and again, now it looks to be perfectly straight.
Want to see what it looked like before; let's go ahead and disable that,
skewed and bent, here's the after,
and now, if we do another preview,
you can see that very quickly, simple drag and drop operation
we repaired the shot, the key shot,
the shot that we couldn't get again, restoring it to its
glorious, beautiful state with a single operation,
all in After Effects CS6.
