[Adobe Muse]
[Terry White, Worldwide Design Evangelist] Adobe Muse software enables designers
to create professional HTML websites for desktop and mobile devices
without writing code. So, let's get started.
The site plan is where you actually map out the pages of your site--
the look and feel of the structure.
For example, if I want to add an additional page,
I can just go ahead and add a page by clicking the plus sign,
and I can title that page whatever I want.
I can then apply a different master to that page,
just like you would in a print layout.
Double click on this page and then begin to map out the content on this page,
such as typography, and when it comes to fonts
Adobe Muse gives you the choice of hundreds of web fonts.
So, when I bring up the web font dialogue box,
I can choose any font that I want, and these are real fonts
that work on the web.
Once I've added my type, the next thing I may want to add is some interactive elements,
such as slide shows.
For example, in my widget library I have a slide show function here.
I can just drag and drop this in.
When I drag and drop the slide show in, it's ready to use for me to add my own photos,
customize the look and feel of it, change the transitions,
and of course the thumbnails themselves if I choose to have thumbnails.
Now, when it comes to finishing your site,
you may want to add a mobile component to it.
For example, just with a simple click I can add a tablet version or a smartphone version or both.
And then once I've got those versions, they can either be the same or I can customize them
for a mobile experience that's best just by adding the elements
that I want my mobile users to be able to see.
Then once you're all done with your site,
the thing you're going to want to do is publish it.
So, I can either publish it to the hosting service that comes with Adobe Muse,
which is Business Catalyst,
or if I have my own hosting I can either export the site as HTML
or use the built-in FTP upload and upload my site directly to my hosting provider of choice.
If you are a designer who would like to create unique websites
for desktops, smartphones, and tablets without writing code,
I think you'll find Adobe Muse to be very intuitive and easy to learn,
and I encourage you to give it a try.
