Another new feature in Flash Professional CS5.5 is the ability to take a vector graphic and then rasterize it on the stage. I'll show you what I'm talking about, because right in here, I already have this vector graphic. If I double-click inside of this graphic, notice that it's made up of various drawing objects. And really what I want to do with this drawing object, is I want to go ahead and rasterize it as a bitmap, and I want to edit it in Photoshop. So with all of those drawing objects selected, I'll just do a right-click, and I can convert it to a bitmap. There it is, coverted to a bitmap. It's called "bitmap1;" it's actually in my library as well. But what I can do from here, is I can go ahead and right-click, and I can edit in Photoshop CS5. Here it is in Photoshop CS5. I'll just do a quick layer adjustment--in this case, I'm just going to adjust the hue and saturation. Again, I'm just changing the colors, so now our character's blue; his little raft is like a yellow color. Select Okay, and I will save this png file. And again, it maintains all of the transparency and everything. So with that saved, I'll jump back into Flash. There you have it; it updates that graphic. So I can take any vector graphic, go ahead and rasterize it into a bitmap onto the stage. I can edit it in whatever program I want to edit it in, and then update it back in Flash pretty darn easily. My name is Paul Trani; thanks so much for watching.
