[Introducing: Adobe Photoshop Touch] Hi, my name is John Nack, Product Manager for Photoshop Touch, a new application that Adobe is bringing out for tablets. When we saw tablets really start to take hold, we got excited because now we have a chance to bring a lot of great desktop imaging technology not only to a new device, but to a lot of new people, and our goal was really to take a lot of the magic that people associate with Adobe and bring it to a whole new class of users. We want to make it where you can simply pick up a tablet, grab your images, and start doing interesting things. What designers and photographers tell us is that they don't view their tablet as simply a small computer. They really view it as a different service where they can create ideas more spontaneously, and Photoshop Touch is a great way to do that. Let's say you go to the coffee shop. You don't want to bring your computer. Not only because it's heavy, but because you just want to focus on pure creation. And in Photoshop Touch, you can rapidly pull your images off the web. You can grab things that you've synchronized via Creative Cloud, and then you can paint, you can apply filters. You can apply layers and really get your ideas very, very quickly to come to life. Now, once you've done that, they'll automatically be synched via the Adobe Creative Cloud, so when you get back to your computer, you simply double-click, and those files open up in Photoshop where you can take them further. With Photoshop Touch, we really focused on making it easy to acquire images. Of course, a lot of people are putting their images on Facebook, and we made it really easy to grab your images from there. Now, you might want to grab things from Google Images, for example, and just as easily, you can do a search right in Photoshop Touch. The idea is to take your images and go deeper than you can in most imaging applications. Once you're in Photoshop Touch, you can do things like create layers. You can play with blending modes and opacity to really get exciting composites. And you can very easily do things like simply scribble to remove a background. What we're doing now is taking technology that was previously available only in Adobe Photoshop and bringing that to a whole new class of devices and a whole lot of new people, we hope. In Photoshop Touch, you can do things like transform layers. You can do things as simple as scaling and rotation, but you can also do advanced things like warping. You can do things like apply a fade in order to fade 2 layers together. You can set type. You can apply affects to the edges. You can do things like drop shadow. So really, the limit is only your imagination. Once you've created your image, you want to share that really easily. You can easily synch that with the Adobe Creative Cloud or send it to something like Facebook with 1 touch. Once you've shared your image, you can easily see the comments that other people leave on it. We want Adobe Photoshop Touch to be a really important part of a visual conversation, to make it really fun and easy to take your images, remix them, and share them. One of the features we think is really exciting is called "Camera Fill." With these new devices, we didn't just want to take what you've seen on the desktop and make it smaller. We actually wanted to take unique advantage of what a tablet can do. Now you can feed a live image directly from your camera, either front or back, directly in as a Photoshop Touch layer. And of course, that respects things like selection, blending mode, and opacity. Now you can actually do a live composite inside your Photoshop file and do some really, really interesting things. Now, as I mentioned, we view Photoshop Touch as a way to reach a whole lot of people who have never done this kind of thing before. One of the things we made sure to include was interactive tutorials. We don't simply want to give you the software. We actually want you to get inspired and to go step by step to learn how you can do really cool things. So, this is built in. You can step through, and you can actually not only get a cool effect, but you can actually learn how it was done, so at the end, you've not only created something cool, but now you have the skills to go and take that further. That, very brief, is Photoshop Touch. We're really excited to get it into your hands. We think you're going to love what you can do with it. [Adobe Touch Apps] [adobe.com/go/touchapps]
