My name is Alberto Seveso.
I'm an illustrator.
I'm from Portoscuso, Sardinia, Italy.
Sardinia is a stunning island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
It's very different from Italy, meaning that it's got its own culture,
its own very strong identity, whether it's the cuisine or the cultural traditions.
Also, Sardinia has its own language.
It's a very beautiful place.
I have always liked creativity, meaning, doing something creative.
I started many years ago with the first graphic design software for fun.
I didn't study.
I am totally self-taught.
Maybe not knowing how to draw pushed me to express myself with other tools,
with computers and computer software.
Because, if you don't have--you know--the basics of creative drawing
you can still make something beautiful, something creative, interesting.
I did it just to have fun.
I would never have thought it could turn into a profession.
I am very attracted to people's portraits, especially by faces and facial expressions,
and in a sense I like giving them a new face.
The process basically starts from black.
Then, basically, I add elements that are
vector objects that go inside the image.
Basically this face sort of creates itself.
Riding my bike makes me feel good.
You can just pull the plug a bit.
It's not like I have a life that's so--how can I say--such a busy life.
At the same time, though, I think that the freedom you feel
when you're just riding a motorbike is just perfect, just beautiful.

I am definitely a better cook than I am a graphic designer.
Maybe, come to think of it, when you cook you have to put together a lot of small pieces.
When you cook pasta you have to slice some onion
or garlic, and in the end everything comes together in a dish that you'll eat and enjoy.
More or less it's the same thing with Photoshop because in the end
you bring a lot of pieces together, and at the end you have a dish.
I devoted myself to creativity in a different way.
I make art because, for one thing, because I love it, for sure.
Secondly...secondly because I love it.
I mean, I love it, and that's it.
I do this because I love it.
That's all.
