Hi. I'm Jason Levine, Principal Worldwide Evangelist at Adobe,
and today I'm here with Michael Coleman, Senior Product Manager
in the Professional Video group at Adobe.
We're here to introduce an exciting new product called Adobe Anywhere.
Thanks, Jason. The video production landscape is undergoing a substantial shift.
File-based workflows are common, Internet connectivity is everywhere,
and our customers want more efficient and mobile workflows.
It's not about the individual anymore.
The advantage comes from improving the productivity of groups.
That's why we created Adobe Anywhere.
Adobe Anywhere is a collaboration platform
that enables users of Adobe's professional video products, like Premiere Pro and Prelude,
to work together using centralized assets and media across any network.
Great! Let's show how simple it is to share work using Adobe Anywhere.
Michael and I are both connected to Adobe Anywhere using Adobe Premiere Pro.
We don't have to be in the same room to collaborate.
That's really the whole point of Adobe Anywhere.
We could be in different locations because our shared media is centrally located.
It's easy to get started because there's no new software to learn.
Adobe Anywhere support will be built right into Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Prelude.
We've already done our logging and ingested our clips into the shared project via Prelude,
so let's jump right into collaborative editing with Premiere Pro.
Instead of browsing local files, we can now browse shared remote media
using the Premiere Pro Media Browser just as if the clips were on this computer.
For this demonstration there are no clips on our laptops.
We're completely working across the network,
and the video files are all located in another city,
and we're simply editing over Wi-Fi using our shared corporate network.
This is full HD 1080p source material.
Notice how smoothly the video plays and scrubs.
This is possible because Adobe Anywhere contains new technology
called the Mercury Streaming Engine.
It's very snappy, and it feels just like working with local footage.
[Coleman] That's right. You can go full frame and see every pixel of the original video file.
Thanks to the powerful new Mercury Streaming Engine,
Adobe Anywhere doesn't need proxy files to do this.
It means that you can get the ability to work across the network
without the hassle of copying media, generating proxies, or conforming the final edit.
Let's get started building a sequence.
I'll drag a few clips into the timeline.
As far as the editing experience goes, it's just what you'd expect from Premiere Pro:
smooth, fast, and immediate. >>[Coleman] That's right. The system is very efficient.
Your editing hardware doesn't need to be a top-of-the-line expensive system.
The server is doing much of the work and just sending the resulting stream to your laptop.
If I'm doing a multi-stream edit, the system isn't flooding the network with multiple streams;
it does the compositing and sends a single viewing stream to my laptop.
This saves on network bandwidth too.
And since all of our project info is located in the shared project,
this makes it very easy to collaborate with others.
When I share this timeline, it's instantly available to other users
without having to render any new media.
Michael, why don't you go ahead and add a fade-in and maybe some effects. >>Sure.
Another key aspect of Adobe Anywhere is that it's an open system.
It's possible to integrate Adobe Anywhere with existing workflow
and media asset management systems or even a review and approval app.
Behind the scenes it doesn't require exotic, single-purpose hardware.
The hardware we're using today uses standard infrastructure
with NVIDIA GPU processing and a fast Omneon MediaGrid for media storage.
So now that Michael is done working, he can also share his changes to the work group.
As you can see, the full fidelity of our work is shared quickly and easily,
and if I wish, I can continue to work where Michael left off.
Notice that we've been working on the same timeline and the same assets
without copying files, without merging projects,
or worrying about who has the final version of the project. >>[Coleman] That's right.
Loggers, editors, motion graphic artists all have the freedom to collaborate
wherever they have a network connection.
With instant access to shared assets and project information,
it can enable your team to deliver higher quality results in less time,
and you can hire a team based on talent instead of location.
And that's the power of Adobe Anywhere.
