Seems like every group, club, organization,
team on campus wants a t-shirt designed
and how can you create something really compelling
for this t-shirt very easily?
I'm gonna show you how to do this all in Illustrator.
In fact, if I start out in Illustrator,
I can go to File > New from Template
and into the blank templates,
because there's actually a t-shirt template already ready to go.
So in here, I can start to design whatever I want.
So I could use these tools,
create something from scratch if I want to,
but you know what?
I can actually find plenty of resources online.
In fact, if I just do a simple search online,
I wanna find some nice, compelling, vector illustrations;
I can also use photos if I just vectorize them
or trace them, as its known,
but nonetheless, I can grab whatever imagery I want
and open them right up in Illustrator.
In fact, that's what I've done.
I have this design right here.
Again, nice illustration that I was able to use that I found online.
From there, I can go to Window > Symbol Libraries
and add some of my own, as well, directly from Illustrator.
In this Regal Vector Pack, for instance,
I can take some wings
and drop them right in here,
and you'll notice immediately, well,
it's not behind the skull; I can fix that.
Over here to my Layers Panel,
what I can do is just click and drag that
beneath all of those layers,
so put it in the background.
Next up, you want to customize this design
with your own text.
Pretty easily done, just selecting the Text Tool,
typing in what you want
and pick the font you want.
Easily just resizing that,
maybe putting it on its own layer,
and from there, I want to bend this around, following that curve.
I can using this Make Envelope,
which is in the Options bar.
There it is, curving that out, know I can do so much more.
I have full control over that text, bending that just like that,
and now I have my nice illustration for my secret society.
Don't tell anybody; here's a t-shirt for our secret society.
None the less, make what you want.
Once you have everything designed the way you want it,
You can go ahead and save it as a PDF file.
So when I save it as a PDF,
I can save it out as
a Press Quality PDF,
printing it out either on some iron-on paper,
and then putting it on shirts that way,
or even sending it to a printer.
So that's how you can use Illustrator to really design
something that fits your brand,
whether you're with a team, a group, organization;
whatever it is, you can use assets from other places,
or create something all yourself.
It's great that Illustrator gives you this flexibility.
So I encourage you to check it out for yourself.
