How to Optimize Lightroom 5
In this episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne shares several suggestions for hardware, software, and preferences to help optimize the performance of Lightroom. Keeping these tips in mind when setting up a new system or refining your current system will help speed up Lightroom and make you more productive.
Quick Tip – Creating 32-bit (HDR) Images in LR 4.1
In this Quick Tip, Julieanne quickly demonstrates how to create a 32-bit file from multiple exposures in Photoshop and then, using the Develop module in Lightroom 4.1 refines the image's color and tonality both globally and selectively - all while still working in 32-bit! In the tutorial, I don’t believe that I mentioned that when I choose Edit > In, my default setting is to hand off a TIFF file to Photoshop. That way, when I save the file, it saves a 32-bit TIFF – which is what Lightroom prefers (not a PSD file).
Saving Changes to your Photographs in Lightroom 3
In this episode, Julieanne Kost will explain how changes made to photographs are saved automatically to the Lightroom Catalog. Then Julieanne will demonstrate how to use both the “Save Metadata to Files” command as well as the “Automatically write changes to XMP” Catalog Setting to push changes made to photographs from the catalog into individual files (or sidecar files) so that they can be read and utilized within additional applications such as Adobe Bridge.
