In 1995 Howest,University College West Flanders became a single autonomous Higher Education Institution because of a merger of six prominent institutions of higher education in Flanders. Since then the development within Howest has taken on a fresh impetus and we are now one of the leading providers of higher education in the province. Today about 5600 full-time students are enrolled at Howest pursuing 24 Bachelors and 7 Masters covering a wide range of disciplines. Howest consists of four campuses situated in Bruges and Kortrijk. In this session Wouter Verweirder will talk about how he challenges students in the experimental development course he teaches. Come learn more about this digital publishing course devoted to using Adobe InDesign and the Digital Publishing Suite toolset. In this session, we'll:• Show how Adobe tools allow MFA students to create and develop their own iPad magazine• Illustrate how students migrate from roles as publication designers to experience designers• Define what Digital Publishing Suite has to offer students in a higher education setting• Highlight some of the most creative ways to use Adobe tools
