Suzanne Mescan: Component Content Management Advantages
Suzanne Mescan: Component Content Management Advantages
Suzanne Mescan of VASONT SYSTEMS discusses how component content management solutions (CCMS) differs from traditional CMS. Component content management stores content at the topic or sub-topic level, which is ideal for technical communications. This allows a chunk of "documentation" to be authored one time and used multiple times throughout publications, saving time and cost in translation and other areas.

Vikram Verma: Responsive Design with Server-Side Components
Vikram Verma: Responsive Design with Server-Side Components
Adobe Product Manager, Vikram Verma, discusses why responsive design by itself is not the "holy grail" to solve all of tech comm industry problems. Vikram observes that more information is consumed by mobile phones, and desktop consumption is decreasing. The attention span of mobile users is half that of desktop users. It is essential to cater to mobile users. Responsive design with server-side components can allow you to create categories for output devices (e.g. tables, mobile, desktop) and optimize content to create separate responsive design websites. Once you have that, you integrate them all with server-side components like JavaScript which will direct the user to the appropriate version of the website to consume content appropriately.

Suzanne Mescan: Component Content Management
In this STC/Adobe interview, Suzanne Mescan of VASONT discusses how CCMS (Component Content Management Systems) were built today's needs with structured authoring . They build content at the topic level. You edit topics at the topic level, not the document level. This means that you only have to edit content once. Make sure that your CCMS integrates well with FrameMaker or your chosen structured authoring solution.

Adolescents Against
Drugs Adolescents Against Drugs is a short film that describes an initiative lead by young people to limit the use and spread of drugs among Adolescents in Jerusalem. The message behind our film is directed to young people who are so close to be addicts and those who live in hard social situations and are attempted to try drugs one day. we want to use social media and our experience in media production to create an interactive facebook page where young people will watch our videos, read our messages and listen to their peers talking about their own experiences with addiction, and will send us their direct feedback. we think that the number of young people using facebook in Jerusalem is very high which will make our initiative a successful one. Our film tries to explain what we want to do and the main components of our initiative.
