Photographers will often tell you that "It's all about the lighting", and this sneak experiments with playing with lighting after the fact. Tweak image lighting based on selected samples, and turn your home movies into blockbuster hits (or at least make them look the part) by adjusting lighting modeled on any movie you choose. It is early prototype technology that we are working on in our development labs. This is not part of Photoshop CC or After Effects CC, but is an example of capabilities that we could include in future years.

Take a tour of typographic design that crosses the boundaries between lettering and illustration with master designer Daniel Pelavin. Rarely using standard fonts, Pelavin prefers to create his own, giving his work an individuality made possible in large part by the powerful tools in Adobe Illustrator.

Tevin, Joel, Alice, Ackeem and Alex applied independently to take part in the BFI Film Academy, a six week intensive filmmaking course delivered by Eastside Educational Trust. They were selected because they demonstrated a real passion for filmmaking and a desire to develop their skills beyond the work they were doing at school. With different backgrounds and levels of experience in filmmaking they came together as a team to create a short film – they contributed to all aspects of the production as well as attempting to achieve their own individual challenge in a specific role. The filmmakers wanted to take a light-hearted bitter-sweet view on how we aspire to be something we’re not.

Audio is an important part of video projects. Jeff Sengstack explains how to control audio volume levels in a Photoshop video project. He shows you how to control audio levels on a clip-by-clip and for clips that extend for the entire duration of the project. He also shows you how to smooth the audio edits from one clip to the next using the fade feature and to use the audio fade with the video crossfade to smooth the opening and closing scenes of a video. Applies to the CC and CS6 versions of Photoshop.

See how easy it is to link an entire 3D graphic to an animation view and also how a few FrameMaker 11 mouse clicks, generated a list of parts from the 3D graphic that are automatically hyper-linked. In PDF output, you can click on any of the part names in the table, and the 3D graphic will change to a non-shaded view, with the selected part highlighted with 3D shading. This feature is very empowering for people creating techcomm content for medical devices, transportation/airline parts and other products that utilize diagrams with many potential views.
